Dermabond Topical Skin Adhesive (Octyl 2 Cyanoacrylate) from Ethicon, Inc., is recommended for closure of easily approximated skin edges of wounds from surgical incisions, including punctures from minimally invasive surgery and simple, thoroughly cleansed trauma-induced lacerations. The adhesive should be used in conjunction with, but not in place of, subcuticular sutures when required. In many cases, Dermabond adhesive can eliminate the need for an anesthetic injection in wound closure.
