China Gel - Herbal Therapeutic Gel for Topical Pain Relief

China-Gel Topical Analgesic is a soothing, greaseless therapeutic gel that provides fast relief of minor aches and pains associated with simple backaches, arthritis, bursitis, strains of muscles and joints and sports injuries. It is used professionally by chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and in athletic and rehabilitation programs.

China-Gel is a natural, greaseless, therapeutic gel that incorporates modern technology with ancient pain-relieving concepts of Chinese medicine. China-Gel has a pleasant, menthol/lavender fragrance on application that ultimately becomes odorless as the gel dries.

China-Gel looks and feels like a fine cosmetic hand cream. It completely dissolves upon application and does not leave a greasy residue. Contains the natural substances of Menthol, Cinnamomum, Camphora, Ginseng Extract, Angelica Extract, Lavender Oil, Aloe Vera Gel, and Witch Hazel.

When applied as directed, China-Gel is designed to stimulate the body's endorphin response to pain and reduces the pain-producing " P factor " in muscle tissue, thereby lessening pain and discomfort, and enhancing healing. The deep penetrating effect offers long lasting cool-to-warm soothing relief.

China-Gel is suggested for the following conditions: muscle strain, joint pains, arthritis, tendinitis, sports injuries, leg cramps, bursitis, rheumatism and for use in rehabilitation and massage therapy.

China-Gel has been widely recognized for its effectiveness, and is used at highly-regarded medical treatment centers like the Mayo Clinic and by professional athletic teams.

Avagard Hand Antiseptic - Fast and Effective

A study performed by Jeffrey Palmer evaluated the use of Avagard compared with hand-brush scrub preparation for preoperative scrubbing in regards to inpatient and outpatient pediatric urologic operations.

Avagard is a waterless, brushless, and scrubless hand antiseptic indicated as a replacement for traditional preoperative brush hand scrubbing. It is composed of chlorhexidine gluconate 1% solution along with ethyl alcohol 61% wt/wt.

The study evaluated the first 550 patients where Avagard was utilized as a preoperative hand antiseptic and compared these 550 patients with a previous 550 consecutive patients had traditional antiseptic-impregnated hand-brush scrubbing. All patients underwent pediatric urologic procedures that were similar in nature. Patients were monitored postoperatively for signs of wound infection, and patients and the surgeon were monitored for side effects. A cost analysis was performed to compare the use of Avagard as a preoperative hand preparation and comparing it to the antiseptic impregnated hand-brush preparations.

The group found that the incidence of wound infection was not statistically significant between the two groups. There was one wound infection in the Avagard group and two in the hand-scrub group. All wound infections were successfully treated with a single course of oral antibiotics without any long-term sequelae. No side effects for the patients or the surgeon were noted. They did find that the use of the Avagard was more time efficient and cost effective.

The group concluded that Avagard is a fast and effective way to apply an antiseptic prior to surgery. It seems to be much more cost effective as well as time efficient when compared to traditional surgical scrub. In my opinion, if it is just as good and faster then why not use it. It may become extremely helpful for cases requiring a very fast surgical preoperative scrub such as trauma cases.
